The School Education Department, Government of the Punjab has issued instructions regarding the continuation and fresh hiring of School Teacher Interns (STIs) under the STI Program, 2024.
Following the approval of the Government of the Punjab, the following actions are to be taken immediately:
1. Continuation of Existing STIs
The services of already engaged School Teacher Interns may be continued through fresh agreements with effect from 24 August 2026 to 31 May 2027.
2. Fresh Hiring of STIs
The process for fresh hiring of School Teacher Interns against vacant slots may be initiated as per the STI Program, 2024 and in accordance with the district-wise allocation enclosed with the notification.
3. Compliance
Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) in Punjab have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the Government decision, terms, conditions and eligibility criteria of the STI Program, 2024.
4. Priority
The matter has been declared TOP PRIORITY, and compliance reports are required to be submitted to the School Education Department at the earliest.
